The Statewide Annual Exhibition catalog highlights the best of mixed media and works on paper in the state of Utah for 2016. The goal of this project was to create an exhibition catalog for the Utah Arts & Museums Statewide Annual Exhibition. The catalog serves as a supplement to the exhibition. The catalog, in correlation with the exhibit, also serves to elevate the selected artists featured in the exhibit. 
 
The category of “mixed media” represents a range of works which reinvent media into a wide-ranging category of approaches. The intent behind the cover design for the catalog was to hint at the idea of what mixed media is and could possibly be – drawing the viewer into the catalog to explore further. Having come across a plywood board that was used as a work surface for a variety
of art making processes, I realized it was a perfect fit for suggesting what “mixed media” practice could be. This became the cover image for the catalog. The interior design was intentionally kept as minimalist as possible, in order
to emphasize the artworks featured in the exhibition. The modern, minimal design of the layout reflects the contemporary, refined works chosen to be
in the exhibition.
